1976 Datsun 260Z 2+2 F LCA bush install

Hi,
I am having trouble getting the new bush into the front lower control arm shell.
The bushes seam to be too big and I wanted to confirm that the shells were to be left in the arm and re used.
Also the I.D of the shell is 31mm and the O.D of the bush (part number 3060) is 35mm by my measurements, is this correct?

I took the F LCA to my mechanic today and they had to remove the shell before installing the bushes. This on contrary to the install information provided with the bushes that state the shells needed to be re used.

As I destroyed on one set of bushes for the other control arm last night by forcing them into the shell as directed to, I will now need to order a new set which I am VERY unhappy about  .
