Hi,

I am designing a steel deck for my Volvo 610 Class 8 tractor that has been converted for pulling my fifth wheel RV trailer.
A person who has built a similar deck recommended the 9.4102 parts.

I have some questions not answered by the information available on the web site:

1) Which parts (the thick bushing or the thin one) go between the load (the 1/4" plate) and the frame?

2) What is the maximum load that can be supported by a pair of the 9.4102?

3) How much will the bushing between the load plate and the frame compress under the maximum load?

4) What torque should be applied to the 1/2 grade 8 bolt that holds everything together?

5) How thick are the 2-1/2" washers?

Thanks for your assistance.

RickE,

I appreciate your questions and they are all valid inquiries. You will want to definitely use the thicker bushings, and as far as maximum load that can be supported and bushing compression is all at the mercy of weight and position.  The thickness of the 2.5" washer is .116".  For the torque specs, I recommend this site
